Ambedkar, Dalits and Buddhism is a collection of Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Annual Lectures, including one special lecture, delivered by a number of scholars during the period 1995-2007. The thoughts and philosophy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar has inspired the toiling masses, particularly Dalits, to march ahead for self-liberation and development. Several distinguished social scientists, from India and abroad, have analysed his writings and contributions to the nation building and the deconstruction of the Hindu social order and construction of a new social order based on equality, liberty and fraternity. His scientific, rational and temporal interpretation of Buddhism and contributions to its revival and growth in India have also been highlighted. All the lectures, except the special lecture, have already been printed but they are being published in a book form in order to serve a wider readership.
